• Personal Details: Full name, email address, mobile phone number, college/university name, course name, and profile photos.
• Listing Specifics (PG Owners): Property name, address, PG photos, locality details, pricing, room configurations, and verification documentation.
• Communication Logs: Chat logs generated inside our student-owner messaging service, including block status metrics and user deletion records.
• Location Data: With your permission, we collect geolocation coordinates to facilitate map-based PG searches.

2. How We Use Your Data

We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent. Specifically, we use the data to:

• Facilitate account creation, Google Sign-In authentication, and profile setups.
• Enable direct, brokerage-free communication between student tenants and PG hosts.
• Render locality maps and coordinate listings relative to your campus.
• Send push notifications regarding new inquiries, verification status, and promotion updates.
• Process payments and activate listing passes through Razorpay.

3. Cookies and Analytics

Like any other website, NorthStay uses "cookies". These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

We may use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to track and analyze usage data to help us improve the platform experience.

4. Payments and Billing Security

All subscription upgrade payments made on our platform are processed securely via our payment gateway partner, Razorpay. NorthStay does not store your credit card, debit card, or banking details on our servers. All transaction details are encrypted and processed in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS).

5. Data Retention and Safety Measures

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or to comply with statutory legal requirements. We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

6. Account Deletion and Rights

We respect your right to control your data. Users can request the complete deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time:

• In-App Deletion: Go to the Profile settings tab in the mobile app and tap "Delete Account". This triggers an automated lifecycle that closes all active chats and updates record visibility.
• Web Request: Visit our Account Deletion Page or email support@northstay.in. We will process your deletion request within 48 hours.
